Welcome!

Hello and welcome to my little virtual house! I hope you enjoy your stay.

This site is a small passion project where I can talk about things I enjoy, share my art and organize my creations. I add new things every now and then so it's always a work in progress.

This user is a sighthound.

About the Webmaster

My name is Charodei. You can call me Charo, Zoi or Murugiy. I'm from Spain and I'm 16, my birthday is on April the 26th. I'm a transmasc and dog-gender alterhuman. I have a big special interest in sighthounds, and I also love fiber arts such as sewing and crocheting. I enjoy nostalgic photographs, whimsical and/or vintage aesthetics, folk tales and learning about things.

I'm autistic (diagnosed at 14) so talking to people is really hard for me. I also struggle with memory issues, depression and other disorders. Please be patient with me! I really need it sometimes.

I started coding as a hobby in 2025. Until then, my only experience with HTML and CSS was from coding on Toyhouse, which is what introduced me to web design. I was very scared to start coding a site at first, but with a lot of tutorials and help from friends it became a very enjoyable activity!

My biggest goal in life is to own a dog!

BORZOI

I identify in a psychological and spiritual way as one of these dogs, they're incredibly special to me. Sometimes I have dreams where I am a borzoi, dreams that I interpret as memories from a past life.
A little bit of history, because I love researching and finding information about them. The earliest records of sighthounds existing in russia date back to the 11th century, and the first standard was written in the 1600's. This breed was used for hunting small game like most other sighthounds, but is most known for having been used by aristocrats in ritual wolf hunting, a practice that was popularized later on. The modern Russkaya Psovaya Borzaya has blood from the original Gustopsovaya, Chistopsovaya and Kurland borzoi types, as well as other breeds like the Stepnoy, Hortaya and the Crimean hound that contributed to the modern type. Many nobles in the russian empire kept dozens if not hundreds of borzoi in their estates, the breed was so valued that it was nearly impossible to obtain one if not as a gift from the tsars; however it's a myth that this was the only way to get a borzoi back then. The Grand Duke Nikolay Nikolaevich had the largest and most splendorous kennel of borzoi, called "Perchino". Another notable kennel was Gatchina, the imperial hunt. The breed remained relatively unknown outside of its home country, but in the late 19th century some enthusiasts managed to get them and started new breeding lines abroad. The russian revolution of 1917 sadly caused this breed to nearly go extinct due to being associated to the aristocracy, but it survived thanks to the fact that some individuals were sold away to other countries; because of this, the best modern kennels of borzoi are very often located outside of russia. The borzoi was known in the west as the Russian Wolfhound until 1936.

KYRGYZ TAIGAN

My connection to this breed is psychological and spiritual, almost religious. I once was a taigan running free through the mountains, my past self speaks to me through dreams and protects me in some way. The taigan's origin is unclear but it's related to most central asian sighthounds, most closely to the Kazakh Tazy. They're very well adapted to living in extreme weather and high altitudes, and have a very well developed sense of smell, which they use for hunting instead of sight.

AFGHAN HOUND

I kind of just see myself in them, although my connection is not spiritual but rather purely psychological. I like researching about them too, although it's hard to find information on their early history, because just like taigans, their past fades away in the eternal mountains. The breed has many types, and they're known in their home country as "Tazy".

SHAANXI XIGOU

The Xian hound is one of the four varieties of chinese sighthounds. It's very hard to find information on them since they're extremely rare to see in the west, but thankfully, there are efforts to preserve the breed in china. Xigou is thought to be related to the persian Saluki, both being some of the most ancient breeds. A very distinctive feature on the Shaanxi Xigou is the roman head in many individuals, it is not an obligatory part of the standard but it's admitted.
