Charodei ꕥ Zoi/He ꕥ 16
My name is Charodei. You can call me Charo, Zoi, Bürküt or Murugiy. I'm from Spain and I'm 16, my birthday is on April the 26th. I'm still figuring out my gender identity, so far I know I'm a transmasc, dog-gender,,, boything. I identify in some levels as a sighthound, I believe I lived through many different lives before I ended up as a human, and although I don't really like labeling my identity I suppose one could say I'm some kind of a therian. I have a big special interest in dogs, especially sighthounds, so they appear a lot in my work.
I'm autistic (diagnosed at 14), I struggle a lot with communication please be aware. I also have terrible memory and get overwhelmed very easily; all of this makes responding to messages and remembering stuff very difficult for me, although I'm working on this, please be patient.
Nature is my favorite place, even though I live in a big city I like escaping into the grove every now and then because it brings me peace. I used to live with my grandparents in a smaller town near mountains when I was very young, mountains have always been very special to me. They feel like home.
ABOUT MY THERIOTYPES
I identify in a psychological and spiritual way as one of these dogs, they're incredibly special to me. Sometimes I have dreams where I am a borzoi, dreams that I interpret as memories from a past life.
A little bit of history, because I love researching and finding information about them. The earliest records of sighthounds existing in russia date back to the 11th century, and the first standard was written in the 1600's. This breed was used for hunting small game like most other sighthounds, but is most known for having been used by aristocrats in ritual wolf hunting, a practice that was popularized later on. The modern Russkaya Psovaya Borzaya has blood from the original Gustopsovaya, Chistopsovaya and Kurland borzoi types, as well as other breeds like the Stepnoy, Hortaya and the Crimean hound that contributed to the modern type. Many nobles in the russian empire kept dozens if not hundreds of borzoi in their estates, the breed was so valued that it was nearly impossible to obtain one if not as a gift from the tsars; however it's a myth that this was the only way to get a borzoi back then. The Grand Duke Nikolay Nikolaevich had the largest and most splendorous kennel of borzoi, called "Perchino". Another notable kennel was Gatchina, the imperial hunt. The breed remained relatively unknown outside of its home country, but in the late 19th century some enthusiasts managed to get them and started new breeding lines abroad. The russian revolution of 1917 sadly caused this breed to nearly go extinct due to being associated to the aristocracy, but it survived thanks to the fact that some individuals were sold away to other countries; because of this, the best modern kennels of borzoi are very often located outside of russia. The borzoi was known in the west as the Russian Wolfhound until 1936.
My connection to this breed is psychological and spiritual, almost religious. I once was a taigan running free through the mountains, my past self speaks to me through dreams and protects me in some way. The taigan's origin is unclear but it's related to most central asian sighthounds, most closely to the Kazakh Tazy. They're very well adapted to living in extreme weather and high altitudes, and have a very well developed sense of smell, which they use for hunting instead of sight.
I kind of just see myself in them, although my connection is not spiritual but rather purely psychological. I like researching about them too, although it's hard to find information on their early history, because just like taigans, their past fades away in the eternal mountains. The breed has many types, and they're known in their home country as "Tazy".
The Xian hound is one of the four varieties of chinese sighthounds. It's very hard to find information on them since they're extremely rare to see in the west, but thankfully, there are efforts to preserve the breed in china. Xigou is thought to be related to the persian Saluki, both being some of the most ancient breeds. A very distinctive feature on the Shaanxi Xigou is the roman head in many individuals, it is not an obligatory part of the standard but it's admitted.

ABOUT THIS SITE
This site was partially inspired on toyhouse. I wanted a place to store my characters, but also wanted it to be more personal and customizable. Coding a site from scratch seemed very scary at first, but thanks to online resources such as W3Schools and help from friends, editing my site ended up turning into one of my favorite hobbies.
The inspirations for the design of this site were many, most noticeably the CSS theme I made for my TH which is where the colors come from, but also lots of other things that I like, such as old websites about dogs, art nouveau, vintage aesthetics,,, most importantly, I wanted my site to feel comforting, like a warm quilt in winter.
